Sited in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains the River Danube slices right through it. The medieval old town on the Northern Bank is pedestrianised with cobbled streets full of cafes, bars, restaurants, shops and small boutiques. A bonus is that it is arguably the cheapest place in all of Europe.
