Oman, the most traditional of all the Middle-Eastern countries, has a surprising amount of attraction to the average tourist. With the whole country being covered in Forts such as the impressive Rustaq Fort on the Batinah coast, there is a lot of heritage in Oman. This is also seen in the Sultan’s palace of Muscat, the capital city, and the impressive and culturally fascinating Souk in Nizwa.
Oman also is now developing a modern feel to it in some areas, with a few 5-star hotels appearing in Muscat and increasing amounts of water sports becoming available on the beaches surrounding them. However, if you would like a pristine beachfront there are always the beaches at Salalah.
The best time to visit Oman would be mid-October to mid-March, making Oman a nice warm Christmas getaway location.
