Barbados is a Caribbean island with a distinct English feeling. Certain aspects of British culture have been incorporated giving the island a home-away-from-home sentiment. Cricket is played in abundance, there are Anglican churches in every town and there’s even horse racing every Saturday to keep the gamblers at bay.
However, despite these, Barbados is clearly not Britain. There are perfect white sand beaches lined with palm trees on one side and warm blue seas on the other side. Barbados has a vibrant scene to attract the more energetic tourists, with the opportunity of water sports and golf during the day and restaurants and clubs to entertain at night.
Barbados is best visited at between February and May, to avoid the sweltering heat and rainy season.
