Grenada, known as the ‘Spice Island’ due to its large output of nutmeg among other spices, is a rejuvenating holiday experience. Unlike other Caribbean islands, Grenada is not as cosmopolitan, and has really withheld a relaxed, West-Indian feel to it. With its tropical rainforests full of wildlife, and its pristine white beaches with clear warm seas, a person could spend two weeks admiring the beauty of Grenada alone.
However, Grenada’s beauty is not limited only to natural features. St George’s harbour frequently gets voted one of the most beautiful places in the whole Caribbean, and does not disappoint in regards to this title. St’ George’s also has a distinctive feel with steep twisting streets and 19th Century Creole builings.
Grenada is well visited all year round with average temperatures of 27oC. Although there is some rainfall every month, there are always more dry moments. A particularly good time to visit is the second week of August, when carnival is on.
