Tunisia is the jewel of North Africa. With so much so see this is a country that requires a lot of energy to explore. This country is covered in Roman ruins. There is the coliseum at El-Jem, which is nearly as big as its counterpart in Rome. There is also hot springs at Hamman Mellegue. However, the most impressive ancient ruin in Tunisia is Carthage, one of the great cities of the Ancient World. Although the Romans did actually demolish most of the city, there are still many ruins to behold as well as a museum to school tourists on the history of the site.
However, if all that sightseeing seems to be toot tiring, Tunisia has some of the best beaches and resorts to relax in the whole of Africa. The specially built Port el-Kantaoui, a tourist settlement neighbouring Sousse, there are beaches, local markets and plenty of high quality restaurants. There are also tourist locations on the island of Hammamet and in various other cities including the capital Tunis, which its Medina aging back to the 7th Century.
Tunisia is best visited during June to August, although there is another good season from January to February.
